Welcome to the launch of We Are Cognitive's Talk to the Hand series starting with Episode 1: The Art of Household Management!

We Are Cognitive

Andrew Park (Founder):

Andrew Park is the creative mind behind the RSA Animates, the pioneer of whiteboard animation and the founder of We Are Cognitive. Beginning as a scribe with EY, Andrew has spent his career sharing important ideas and working with some of the greatest academics of our time. Andrew created Talk To The Hand to continue this work. In each episode, Andrew discusses the ideas shaping our world with expert guests, using visual thinking and animation to bring these ideas to the attention of audiences everywhere.


Dave Horn (Marketing Executive/Scriptwriter):

Dave Horn has been part of the We Are Cognitive team for five years. A graduate of Bangor University with a background in journalism and media, Dave helps to capture the discussions at Talk To The Hand recording sessions, and edits this footage into narratives and episodes. Alongside his work on Talk To The Hand, Dave is part of the marketing team and a We Are Cognitive scriptwriter.


Becki Lane(Project Manager Team Leader):

Becki is a pro at making sure a project ticks along smoothly. At We are Cognitive, she provides a critical link between clients and our creative team, keeping everyone in the loop and ensuring the team hits the brief on time. Becki has experience in project management roles across various industries, such as finance, engineering, exhibitions and interior design. She loves seeing Talk To The Hand projects evolve from the initial recording right through to the final launch.


Sam Holmes (Illustrator):

An illustrator with a passion for character design, Sam Holmes has a background in video game illustration. Sam’s degree in animation from the University of Lincoln completed her skill set and Sam has brought all of this to her work on Talk To The Hand. Working closely with Andrew, Sam’s illustrations have crystalised Kate Raworth’s points, ideas and concepts into rich illustrations.


Phil Taberner (Animator):

Phil Taberner has been working on the Talk To The Hand series since its conception. While studying Media Production, Phil quickly found his calling as a gifted animator. Phil’s creative and innovative approach to animation has allowed him to breathe life and a new dimension of storytelling into our Talk To The Hand episodes, alongside projects for We Are Cognitive’s clients. 


Elena Gamper (Marketing Illustrator):

Elena Gamper first encountered We Are Cognitive as a teenager through their TED-Ed animations. These animations opened Elena’s eyes to the power of animation in education.  Today, Elena is a graduate of Arts University Bournemouth Skilled in illustration and animation. Elena is a key part of the We Are Cognitive team and Alongside Sam Holmes’ work, Elena’s illustrations have captured the essential messages shared by Kate Raworth.


Matt Rowe (Film):

In his own work as a multidisciplinary artist, Matt Rowe focuses on vernacular symbols and the language of folklore. However, when it comes to Talk To The Hand, it’s Matt’s years of experience documenting projects and recording live events that have made him an essential part of the team. Matt has helped We Are Cognitive record conversations with academics and experts across a wide range of disciplines, providing the creative foundations for each episode to build on.


Isabel Tejada (Illustrator):

Illustrator Isabel Tejada enjoys creating in all its forms, whether on the screen, or the page or even as a mural on a kitchen wall. A graduate of Nottingham Trent University, Isabel uses her skills to transform scripts and ideas into rich illustrations for We Are Cognitive’s clients. These skills also allowed Isabel to illustrate the interview between Kate Raworth and Andrew Park and share its messages.
