I work for a rural centre for entrepreneurship that, on paper, helps entrepreneurs and small business get set up. In practice, we do so much more, trying to keep the weave of social fabrics alive and invigorated, serve the poorest and most vulnerable, support the endeavours that matter etc. Looking to join a community of practice to keep my ideas around community building, regenerative practice and systems thinking current and inspired.

I am an Executive and Board advisor with 18 years of experience growing social impact organizations through strategy execution, organizational design, and business transformation. My consultancy, SOVA Strategies, uses strategy and design principles to accelerate the scale of bold, purpose-driven organizations. I'm excited to be joining the DEAL Community to learn how I can leverage its tools to better support and challenge my clients, I love supporting impact-driven leadership teams, and work in both advisory and fractional roles. Prior to SOVA, I spent a cumulative 14 years with Chemonics International – a $1.6B global development and sustainability firm operating in more than 100 countries. At Chemonics, I spent a decade as part of the C-suite, and reported to the CEO. In senior strategy roles, I led the design, launch, and management of enterprise-wide capabilities spanning corporate innovation, M&A and impact investing, venture building, change and quality management, and operational excellence. I also led corporate partnerships and thought leadership efforts for social innovation and impact investment. In partnership with sustainability non-profit UNLEASH, I co-designed and co-led a six-month startup incubator for early-stage social ventures, funded by Chemonics, supporting the launch and growth of more than 320 startups over five years. For five years, I was also a seconded Strategy Advisor to the UNLEASH Secretariat, and served as an Innovation Advisory Board Member. Earlier in my career, I worked in corporate social responsibility (CSR) consulting at Business for Social Responsibility, implementing CSR activities at Ann Inc., and supporting resource development at Project Concern International. Originally from southern California, I now live in Cambridge, MA with my husband. I am an avid reader, wellness enthusiast, and adjunct professor of social innovation and entrepreneurship at The Washington Center in Washington, D.C.

I want another world, so I started WeWantAnotherWorld.nu! Left-wing writer with progressive ideas, so ignored by the mean media, but still hoping for better times, hence my pseudonym: Spero Etiam. I’m desperately searching for soulmates to take action together. Doughnut economics is a positive thinking, but alas, to make people accept new ideas we have to make them aware how neoliberal thinking causes almost all the world problems. That’s the goal of my global digital project. We should collaborate more, complement each other, so please join me at WeWantAnotherWorld.nu or write me how I can help you!

As a mother of three, founder, and systems thinker based in Greenland, I’m passionate about transforming radical ideas into grounded, actionable solutions — especially in places where innovation meets resistance. My work centers on designing simplified, human-centered systems for businesses that prioritize well-being over endless growth — from travel and hospitality to education and AI-driven service models. I believe in reshaping how we define success: not by profit margins alone, but by the health of our communities, cultures, and ecosystems. Through my companies — Meaningful Travels Greenland, Café Nuan, and GlobEx AI — I champion regenerative business models rooted in local relevance, equity, and resilience. I’m here to connect with fellow change-makers exploring how Doughnut Economics can be localized, lived, and led — even in the most unexpected places. Let’s rethink value. Let’s rebuild systems. Let’s design futures that hold space for both people and the planet.

Ever since I can remember I had this dream that the world could be very different from what it is today, if we humans remembered to work how nature works. I was on a quest for a long time to figure out how to make this dream a reality. And I found it! Actually really simple I thought. BUT… I had to learn that simple does not mean easy. It is neither about money, nor land, nor ideas. There is plenty of that available. The thing that gets in the way, and where it always gets messy is our human emotional immaturity. With the many prototypes we had built that was the common denominator. So it got clear: We cannot change the world or system we live in. We can only build a new one. One that works in harmony with the universal laws and dynamics of nature. One that is so inspiring to more and more individual people that it will, at some point make the old system obsolete.

I have been involved in sustainability, politics and education since the 1980's. More recently, I am a student of Modern Monetary Theory and now Doughnut Economics. I see these disciplines as natural allies. My work in recent years involves helping individuals and organisations have better conversations to find a way forward in an increasingly complex world where simple solutions are almost always unhelpful. The main processes I use are: • Navigating Difficult Conversations, • Overcoming Immunity To Change, • WIAL Action Learning, and • Polarity Management. I am also a software developer and a student of Stephen Batchelor's secular approach to Buddhism. All those aspects of myself converge in a desire to leave the world in a better place than I found it, hence my interest in the DEAL Community.

Hi! I am a human. I like being this. I am very fortunate to have had, and continue to have, the opportunity of self-discovery, and of service to those less fortunate. I see a lot of unnecessary suffering in the world, and ways that we can change to alleviate this extraneous suffering and to allow everyone to thrive. I recognize that the flow can be a more powerful tool of change than the fight. Professionally I have been involved with environmental permitting and renewable energy development within the public and private sectors for 25 years. My personal research, growth, and gravity have led me to study sustainability, economic systems change, and to be an activist promoting corporate boycotts, but also integration of circular economy ideologies in local communities. I am here to understand and converse about Doughnut Economies as much as possible, and to become involved personally and professionally in any way I can. I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Hickory, NC, USA.

I am an expert in sustainability and have a PhD in Education for Sustainability. I have 15 years of experience working with businesses and organisations, helping them understand what a low carbon economy, a resilient community, localising food systems or zero waste means for them. Importantly, I can assist in turning these concepts into action at any level through facilitation and strategic planning. My expertise in material recovery means that I can analyse and advise businesses and manufacturers on how to reduce or eliminate waste to landfill. I have worked with a number of large food processors, and am assisting District and City Council to develop strategic action plans for waste management. I have completed numerous waste audits and given advice to councils to reduce waste to landfill. I project manages urban recycling / resilience projects, and I conducts baseline foodshed and food system analysis for districts or regions to look at how food flows into or out of their community.

Keen on adopting doughnut economics as part of an early advisory startup focusing on small to medium enterprises’ digitalization journeys. The coexistence of technology and sustainability should not be determined by previous economic models of growth and compliance. And it seems that this confluence warrants a new way of thinking about sustainable digitalization journeys.

Hello, I am from India. I read ‘Small is Beautiful’ by EF Schumacher in 1996. Deeply influenced by it, I was searching for a meaningful professional career. In 1997, I found that and joined an organisation, which was far ahead of its time, a sort of social engineering experiment. A listed company, with the ratio of highest wage to the lowest wage at 1:5 !! It rebelled against the stock market, made huge social impact (20,000 construction workers with fixed wages and medical benefits - something unheard then and now in India). And a cult brand in the housing industry (which was then not an organised market). Moderate salaries, simple life styles. The company started in 1978, while I discovered them in 1997. But it all came crashing down by 2003, and I was left penniless (at age of 35). Since 2004, I was back at a regular corporate job, and rebuilt my life. But at personal level continued my life and lifestyle in line with my values. An attempt to make a sense of world is my constant state of being, and that dictates what I read. I read Doughnut Economics and finished it in two days - the last two days. I am keen to understand where will this take us and be part of it.

Independent advisor, creator and consultant with a focus on AI. I founded AI for the rest of us with the goal of helping people improve their AI fluency. If we can't understand each other when we talk about AI, we can't make good decisions about this technology! I'm here to share what I learn about sustainable, responsible AI. In particular I'd like to talk about the impact of job losses driven by AI adoption, and how we can help individuals and business plan for this. I would like to help non-technical people understand the options of greener, more sustainable AI solutions.

I work at the Olof Palme International Center, the Swedish labour movement's international solidarity organisation. My main focus is a Just Transition and workers' rights, and I see doughnut economy as a powerful way to steer towards these goals. I'm very interested in hearing about and creating more opportunities for trade unions and the wider labour movement to discuss how to align their struggle for a better life for workers with what the planetary crisis demands of us. How do we distribute resources so that everyone can achieve wellbeing and human rights - live within the donut? relief etc.
