How does this event relate to Doughnut Economics?

This evening relates to the doughnut, by revolving around the question of agency and self efficacy. Before institutions and individuals can bring the framework into their work, they need to believe good futures are possible and that their actions matter. We combine futures-literacy exercises, imagination practice, and Inner Development Goals practice, using the Doughnut as the shared frame for what we are practicing to imagine and build. Organised by the Swiss Donut Economics Network, the Swiss representative of the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL).

What's on the agenda?

17:00 – Welcome, presentations, updates from SDEN
17:30 Framing: why imagination and self-efficacy matter for the transition ahead

17:40 – Images of the Future: a collective mapping exercise exploring our expectations and sense of agency about the next 20 years

17:55 – A short reflection using the Futures Cone, opening up the idea of many possible futures rather than one fixed timeline

18:10 – Break, snacks and drinks

18:25 – A guided imagination journey into a thriving Switzerland inside the Doughnut in 2046

19:00 – Mapping real solutions and actions, connecting our imagined futures back to concrete existing work within DEAL and beyond

19:40 – Closing circle: reflections, updates from the Swiss Donut Economics Network and DEAL, and ways to stay connected

20:00 – 21:00 – Open apéro and informal networking

Who can join?

This evening is open to anyone based in Switzerland who is curious about the Doughnut, whatever their starting point. You do not need any prior knowledge of Doughnut Economics to take part. We welcome people working in city and municipal administration, NGOs, academia, business, and anyone simply looking for a different way to engage with the future of the country. The session is conducted primarily in English (DE-FR for discussions welcome)
