Welcome to the latest Doughnut Research-for-Action seminar, which will launch Doughnut Economics Action Lab's (DEAL's) new Doughnut Data Portraits: Indicator Library tool, with Joel Petterson and Andrew Fanning.
📅 Wednesday, November 19, 1:00-2:00 PM (UK time)
Session Summary
In this launch webinar, Joel and Andrew will present a new spreadsheet-based Doughnut Data Portrait Indicator Library tool that currently includes information published by more than 30 separate initiatives worldwide (and counting!). The tool assembles locally relevant indicators, targets, and other relevant place-based insights from each of these Doughnut Data Portraits into a single database. They will demonstrate how the Indicator Library aims to support prospective scholar-activists creating their own locally relevant Data Portrait by seeing and learning from the data selection choices of earlier initiatives. There will be time for comments, suggestions, and feedback – hope to see you there!

Hi, I've have recently completed my MSc Ecological Economics in Leeds. Since then I have been the Oxfordshire Doughnut Project Data Lead across the Four Lenses for the Preliminary Data Portrait: • Global Ecological Lens: based on planetary boundaries model, downscaling data to county or regional levels and applying and improving on best practice methodologies. • Global Social: designed a data methodology applying material footprinting data to Global Social dimensions (aligned with Sustainable Development Goals) to build a coherent narrative around local consumption and global social impact. • Local Social and Ecological: supervising and producing calculations across all dimensions and their visualisations. Looking forward to see where this doughnut goes and what opportunities for engagement arise from it!
