He serves as Executive Director of League of Florida Orchestras, Inc., a capacity-building nonprofit organization through which he developed the Guiding Success Program – a kindergarten to college pathway initiative for preschool students developed to encourage literacy through entrepreneurship and the arts. Nicolas Rode holds a French-German diploma in European policy from the IEP Lille and the University of Münster. His research focused on the Europeanisation of trade unions and migrant workers. In order to add a broader international aspect to his research, he moved to Canada and joined the master program “Immigration and Settlement Studies” at the Ryerson University, Toronto. He wrote his M.A. thesis on international human mobility. Back in Europe in 2009, Nicolas worked as a consultant in European industrial relations for six years, focusing on restructuring processes and HR development. Since 2016, he has been working at the University of Potsdam as a transfer advisor. Currently he manages the Potsdam Transfer project Inno-UP, short for “Innovative University Potsdam”.

He received a master’s degree in International Trade, finance, and management through the POSCO ASIA scholarship program from the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) at Yonsei University, South Korea. Before coming to Italy, he worked with the Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in South Korea.

I studied Politics & Social and Economic Policy for my undergraduate degree and will be undertaking an MSc in Planetary Health beginning September 2025. I am a former member of the Scottish Youth Parliament, current member of the British Ecological Society and I previously participated in the Young Leaders Development Programme through the Scottish Government's Climate 50 scheme in 2021, aimed at bringing young climate leaders together and training them to become active climate advocates. I now work across Impact analysis and development on a restoration project in the Scottish highlands.
