I’ve been a ‘Culture and Sustainability Specialist’ for the past 23 years of my 40+ year museum career. I am convinced that a sustainable future must be built on a new foundation - which means transforming the cultural footing for individuals, groups, organizations and social systems within countries around the world - as well as the cultural footing for our global community. I approach culture as ‘how we live our lives’. And I see great potential in the existing global network of museums to expand their function beyond the existing framework of providing edutainment experiences in the leisure time economy. If museums can embrace the role of being catalysts of cultural change, then it is possible to achieve the structural changes contained with the Doughnut. Also, for the past 7 years, I’ve been a member of the Strongly Sustainable Business Model Group (SSBMG), which has been developing tools for fostering businesses that contribute to business, societal and environmental flourishing.

I started my career with a zoology degree followed by a PhD in animal learning, but became frustrated with boring and inaccessible science writing. I became a freelance writer specialising in making science articles accessible and fun without dumbing down the content. I worked in online communities before the rise of Facebook and co-founded a quiz creation site where I wrote content for companies such as Disney and Marvel. I’ve also written business novels that use an entertaining character-driven plot to explain complicated concepts. Last summer I had a segment on BBC Radio Wiltshire describing our experience of trying to become an ‘eco-family’. I became frustrated by mixed messages on which activities/consumer choices were actually beneficial. This led me to taking an MSc in Sustainable Development. I’m married with two children and I’m their main care-giver. I have almost finished renovating our old house in a beautiful location next to a river.

Hi, i'm Andrea, an Italian on this planet. Born in 1994, along my growth i gradually got interested and passionated about Earth's natural beauties, environmental stewardship and sustainability. Especially in the last years, i became concerned about climate change, global warming and all the damages we humans create depleting our home, this wonderful planet. I studied Management Engineering in Milan, an hybrid between an economic and a technical degree, and once i reached the Master i was looking for a specialization through which i would have been able to merge my personal concern/interest and my study field. So i did, i found the stream in Energy & Environmental Management with the willing to put my effort for the cause, and the hope to bring my little contribute to the biggest challenge humanity ever faced: save the planet from ourselves.

I work for cCHANGE which is a research and values-driven business working on the human and social dimensions of transformations to sustainability. I have a DPhil (PhD) from the Environmental Change Institute at Oxford University exploring the role of Sustainability-Oriented Hybrid Organisations in promoting sustainability transformations in cities. The key question that occupies my mind and the minds of my colleagues at cCHANGE is HOW to generate transformations across personal, political, and practical spheres - those that are required for us and nature to live and thrive within the doughnuts safe operating space.

I am Spanish, I have a degree in Geography, a Masters in Strategic Territorial Development and have been living betwenn Spain in Portugal, in the frontier since October 2019.
