The vibes are warm and participatory. There will be light refreshments and a cash bar. This event is for leaders in:
- Business and not-for-profits
- Government and policy
- Neighbourhoods and groups working for a better future
This event is for people with curiosity and an openness to exploring how their own work contributes to the larger whole.
Context:
Just weeks after Toronto Climate Week, in the midst of the RSD Systemic Design Symposium and a surge of 'events for change', local organizers from three alternative economy movements are celebrating Global Doughnut Days and a visit from the global WEAll team. Your hosts: Michael Smith, Wynnie Zhao and Naryan Wong can sense the growing 'scenius' in Toronto, where each event and conversation contributes to a growing movement that is larger than each of the groups and communities that compose it.
We hope that this event continues to expand our collective thinking locally, while contributing to the larger global conversation around alternative economics.
A note on the economics...
We are inviting attendees to pay $5 to contribute to the refreshments for the evening and to support the space. We suspect this contribution also makes it more likely for folks to attend, and we offer the ability to contribute more or less depending on what makes sense for you. In this kind of event, we will all contribute to the valuable thinking and connecting that will uplift each of us - much more than the $5 ticket price might suggest.
Many thanks to our event sponsors: Doughnut Economics Action Lab, SolarShare, Centre for Social Innovation.
