Join us to explore how Doughnut Economics shapes our approach to Regenerative Economics for secondary schools!
In this Global Doughnut Days online session, we’ll share how two key models from Doughnut Economics are integrated into our secondary school textbook and curriculum. The embedded economy model provides the overall structure for the course, with an introduction that positions the economy as embedded in social and ecological systems and widening the economic system boundary to include households, commons, and the state in addition to markets. The Doughnut model itself is a thread that runs throughout, reminding students why the economy exists in the first place: to secure wellbeing for all within planetary boundaries.
We’ll walk through examples from the book, share how students are engaging with these ideas, and invite you to help reimagine economics education for the 21st century. See you there!
