About
This gathering is a chance for local people to convene to hear about TOGETHERHOOD MANCHESTER and the Generation Transition project; an initiative which will explore the shifts towards the wellbeing economies of the future through the development and participation of the city's children and young people.
Format
A flexible and responsive structure which will include some information presented to attendees as well as the opportunity to provide feedback and respond to calls to action. Most importantly, this is a relaxed space and an opportunity to 'break bread' together; if you are willing and able to bring a sharing plate, it would be very welcome! There is also a cafe on-site.
This gathering is informal, social and child-friendly. People are encouraged to bring their families.
Who is it for?
All are welcome if you are interested in finding out more about TOGETHERHOOD MANCHESTER and the project; whether specifically or more generally.
Those we believe will be most interested in this session:
- People exploring just transitions, future economies and the role of participatory practices in making them happen.
- Educators, youth workers and practitioners involved in providing new opportunities for children and young people across Manchester to participate in creating thriving futures.
However, all are welcome.
Participation & Contribution
Our venue for this event is Hulme Community Garden Centre, which is open to the general public. We will have a privately hired space within the centre (Garden Tunnel), which will accommodate for seating (tables and chairs), and we ask for gangways to be kept clear at all times to allow attendees to move freely around the space.
You can see an image of the Garden Tunnel space on the centre's website here.
If you have any questions or concerns about your ability to access and participate in this session, please do send us a message in advance via email, and someone from the collective will get back to you to discuss.
