Global Donut Days – Youth Shape the City. Katowice 2064

As part of Global Donut Days 2026, we are returning to Katowice for another local event exploring how we can think about our cities and communities within the limits of our planet. Join us for an informal introduction to Doughnut Economics, a film screening and an open conversation.

17:00 - Doughnut Economics 101

Doughnut Economics may sound like something you need a special recipe for — but don’t worry, this session will give you a simple introduction to what it is all about.

We’ll explore what the Doughnut actually means and how it can help us think about a city like Katowice. The session will be informal, practical and open to discussion - come along if you’d like to find out how the Doughnut works in practice.

The session is open and workshop-based, so you are welcome to join even if you arrive a little after 17:00.

18:00 - FILM SCREENING: It’s Okay to Panic

After the workshop, we invite you to a screening of It’s Okay to Panic.

The film is just under an hour long and will provide a starting point for a further conversation about the world we live in, the challenges we face, and how we can respond to them.

We have obtained permission from the film’s producer/distributor for the screening.

19:00 - COMMUNITY CONVERSATION

After the film, we invite everyone to join an open conversation.

This will not be a lecture, but a space for questions, reflections, exchanging experiences and sharing ideas.
