Helping communities across California develop Doughnut initiatives while building a shared movement.

For GDD 2026, CalDEC will host an online introduction to Doughnut Economics that connects participants from across California with emerging city initiatives and future local opportunities.
Designed to complement their in-person city workshops, the online event creates an accessible entry point for people living beyond California's existing Doughnut hubs. Participants will be introduced to the principles of Doughnut Economics while discovering local pilots already underway and opportunities to become involved in their own regions. The organisers see the event as an important step towards cultivating new local circles that may eventually become independent city initiatives across the state.

I'm interested in post-growth economics (Doughnut Economics, degrowth, and wellbeing frameworks) as alternatives to GDP-centered systems, alongside commons governance and social ecology.
