Regenerative construction workshops
Three 2-day workshops exploring how we can construct housing in a way that's regenerative

Join us in Oxford for a series of three 2-day hands-on regenerative building workshops run by Material Cultures in partnership with Oxfordshire Community Land Trust.
These workshops are part of a collaborative project with researchers from Oxford and Oxford Brookes Universities exploring how we can build housing that actively helps regenerate our environment, rather than depleting it. By taking a landscape-focused approach – asking what material use our local landscapes can cope with if they're to be allowed to regenerate – the project aims to generate solutions to both our housing and environmental crises.
The workshops will combine visits to local sites of material production & processing with hands-on practical skills sessions. They will take place in Oxford, with transport provided for visits to sites elsewhere in Oxfordshire. Details are as follows:
- Timber Cladding with Jeremy Ralph, 24th – 25th June 2025; more info & booking here
- Clay Plastering with Annabel Cameron-Duff, 26th – 27th June 2025; more info & booking here
- Straw Bale Building with Francesca Leibowitz & Introduction by Barbara Jones, 28th – 29th June 2025; more info & booking here
