Current secondary school economics courses address the state. But their narrow focus on markets frame the state largely as an external actor, imposing and a burden with limited useful roles in the economy.


Regenerative Economics frames the state as one of four essential provisioning institutions, making visible its vital role in meeting human needs within planetary boundaries and supporting households, markets and commons to do the same.
