I am a keen young economist who would love to be part of the 21st century green revolution! When thinking about my options and subject choices for the future I had a long think. I thought the thing the world needed most was a rejuvenated economy. The actions of the state and businesses affect all of us all the time, yet their actions are often do not match with what may seen to be morally right. Scientists and engineers are coming up with ingenious environmental solutions yet there is a lack of willing finance in the area, and most importantly few seriously considering how to navigate the environment road map driven by the right kinds of value. Inequality and degradation is embedded in our model of society. I am up for tackling the challenges of the 21st century economist and hope to change that. When I found the book Doughnut Economics and realised there were people already doing this type of thing, I started jumping up and down!
