Doughnut Economics About DEAL DEAL Team Careers FAQ Principles & Guidelines Wider Movement Contact UsHi! I'm Tom, a civil engineering consultant based in Bournemouth.
I graduated with an MEng in civil engineering from the University of Southampton in 2020 and now work for a professional services consultancy who support Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) council with the design of their urban infrastructure.
I grew up as a British expat in The Netherlands surrounded by examples of Dutch sustainable urban design and active travel infrastructure. Using this lived experience I'm pursuing opportunities within the design and planning of urban areas, and maintain a special interest in how the public realm impacts community mental health and wellbeing.
Alongside work I sit on the Board of Trustees and Chair an international development charity, Cameroon Catalyst, who are currently delivering the second instalment of a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programme across some of the least developed communities in Cameroon.
