Doughnut Economics About DEAL DEAL Team Careers FAQ Principles & Guidelines Wider Movement Contact UsAllen is an Architect, Urban Designer, Teacher, Lecturer and a Certified Passivhaus Designer in the process of building a Passivhaus PLUS (energy Positive) certified house in the Shetland Islands using a timber factory produced framed kit. He has worked as project architect, master planner, and site architect on landmark and infrastructure projects railways stations and airports and also highly serviced research laboratory facilities for leading international practices such as SOM, HOK, BDP and RMJM.
Allen is also a 5th year PhD researcher at the
University of Greenwich, Faculty of Business,
School of Systems Management and Strategy
and a member of the
Sustainability Technology and Innovation Research Group (STIR).
He is researching Sustainable Urban Housing looking at the uptake of the Passivhaus standard particularly in the ‘for rent’ and ‘not for profit’ sectors of housing delivery system in the UK.
