Doughnut Economics About DEAL News & Updates Meet the DEAL Team Careers FAQ Wider Movement Contact UsI am a transport planner and systems thinker who is strongly committed to addressing our dependency on the private car. I have previously managed the local public transport network in Tauranga, and now work as an independent consultant providing advice to local and national government. I am working on a Transport Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) in my local area and see Doughnut Economics as the foundation for this. Sustainable transport needs to work for the complex lifestyles that people lead and offer them compelling choices which means that cars become an unnecessary expense. Transport in inextricably linked with spatial planning - where we put things dictates how we get to them. Tauranga as a city is highly car-dependent, and I want to challenge the status quo which says we can't change.
