Margaret Turner
I am a retired mental health social worker, mother and grandmother. I've no training in Economics but for many, many years have felt the capitalist system we have is morally wrong, for these reasons: it puts profit before the quality or usefulness of the product; it promotes social inequality; it promotes consumerism which requires dangerous exploitation of the natural world, other societies and workers.
I believe we need degrowth, not economic growth/increasing our GDP.
I believe in "the joy of frugality" (which I've written very briefly about.)
When I've heard Kate Raworth speak - at an Extinction Rebellion event - and also in conversation with Caroline Lucas, I immediately felt it made such good sense, and I'd like to learn more about it, and about how to support its adoption by the mainstream!
