I'm Jake, a regulatory policy professional working at the intersection of sustainable finance and systems change. At the Financial Reporting Council I contributed to the drafting of the 2026 UK Stewardship Code trying, in practice, to shift how institutional capital behaves.
I came to Doughnut Economics because it resolves a tension I kept running into: the assumption that growth is the only legitimate measure of success, and that environmental and social floors are constraints on the economy rather than its foundations.
I'm increasingly focused on what a genuinely regenerative economy looks like in practice, particularly around biodiversity finance and climate adaptation in Southern Africa, where I'm exploring how to put policy and advocacy skills to more direct use.
Keen to connect with people working on local economic redesign, natural capital frameworks, or the politics of actually getting any of this implemented.
