With a solid professional career in the public and private sectors, he held from 1989 to 2000 functions at the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training working in the community funds department in the 1st and 2nd Financial Framework having joined to the Social Market Employment Commission in 1996.
In 2000 transited to private sector to performing administration and management roles as CEO, Chief Innovation Officer, Sales Director, Training Manager, Chief Branding Officer, Quality Manager, Technical Director, and Economist. He currently works as Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer in International Sharing University based in Oeiras Valley and Chief Innovation, Grants & Incentives Officer at Multicultural Sharing Foundation.
Since 2011, he works in the R&I sector by structuring I&D UNITS and intervening from the project concept to writing proposals, designing financial engineering, budgeting and Cross-Funding strategies, developing Smart Specialization, Clustering strategies and KICs as Business Ecosystem Builder, and intervening in Project Management and R&D, Dissemination, Training and Financial Manager.
Has pedagogical experience as secondary school teacher and associate professor at university level (ISCSP) in Entrepreneurship and Innovation postgraduate course, he taught European Financial Mechanisms and Eurofunding Programmes module.
Have experience in drafting proposals for HORIZON2020, SME Instrument, COSME, Fast Track to Innovation, ERASMUS+, EEA Grants, LIFE, URBACT, Creative Europe, CERV, INTERREG, EUREKA.
He currently works in several entrepreneurial ecosystems and innovation communities supporting the development of innovation and cross-funding strategies in order to optimize funds in the Education, Training and LLL, Blue Economy, Cannabis, Smart Cities, Digital, AI, Cybersecurity and Sports Clusters.
He works in Ericeira Surf Clube as CIO on a voluntary basis since 2014. His mission is to develop innovation in surfing sports sector based on 6 pillars (1 ) high performance (2) business knowledge and innovation (3) Social inclusion (4) Human Development (5) Biodiversity and ocean literacy (6) Territorial Cohesion by involving the local entrepreneurial ecosystem of Ericeira's surf economy and the Stakeholders belonging to the networks of World Surf Cities and the World Surfing Reserves.
He is a Certified Corporate Trainer (CCP) and Official Account (TOC).
