Thomas Jones
I’m a retired environmental attorney from Seattle, Wa. My wife and I recently moved to a small rural community in north central Washington.
I’m the board chair of the Methow Valley Citizens Council, an environmental advocacy nonprofit organization in Twisp, WA.. Our mission is to protect the natural resources and wildlife in our valley for further generations to enjoy. We work closely with local Indigenous peoples to achieve our mission.
I’m also the board chair of our sister nonprofit organization, the Methow Valley Citizens Council Action Fund. Its goal is to support pro-environment candidates and legislation at the local, state and national levels.
My organization developed and published a community based climate action plan that serves as a model plan for other rural communities across the US. To combat climate change, I’m very interested in learning more about the importance of degrowth as an economic strategy.
I look forward to learning more about doughnut economics.
I’ll send you a photo. Best, Tom
