Greetings from Aotearoa New Zealand! My name is Alec and I’ve spent most of my working life trying to create a more sustainable, resilient and regenerative future. I currently head up Auckland Council's Chief Sustainability Office where we recently adopted Te Tāruke-ā-Tāwhiri: Auckland's Climate Plan with a focus on halving the region’s emissions by 2030, reaching net zero emissions by 2050 and taking a precautionary approach to planning for change. A resilient, regenerative and more distributive economy is one of the key priorities set out within the Plan, so I’m really excited to be part of this community, to learn and share our collective experiences.
