Ole Pedersen is a social entrepreneur running his own social enterprise Nedenfra / From below. From below aims at creating opportunities for and enhancing democratic participation in urban development. Pedersen has an evolutionary approach and his work is focused on local contexts, while keeping an eye on European and international movements, policies and development across disciplines. He is behind the Tøyen Boligkonferanse, turned festival in 2020, putting cooperative and collaborative housing on the Norwegian public agenda. He has also been a driving force establishing Tøyen boligbyggelag (Tøyen Housing Construction Cooperative). Ole holds an interdisciplinary master degree in innovation from ESST – Society, Science and Technology in Europe.

I work in the coffee industry and sit on the committee of the Specialty Coffee Association national chapter, SCA Ireland, as Sustainability Coordinator, a new committee role that was created in June this year. The purpose of this role is to examine the space where there is opportunity to insert sustainable practices in the many business types that our community operate, and also in our chapter activities and events. I am more keen than qualified, and really value being part of this group!!

My ambition is to become a changemaker which stimulate organisations, companies and especially small entrepreneurs to find a revenue model which makes them sustainable and social and help them create values which are important to their surroundings. Moreover, now that we transfer the sources of our energy- and heating systems, I would like to stimulate citizen participation, ownership and control on our own systems. Therefor I would like to implement the Doughnut Model.
