I am a video producer, director and founder of South African youth oriented news and politics show, Politically Aweh, which explains issues through an engaging satirical format. We have covered the climate crisis and won first place in 2020 for our explainer "Climate Change in South Africa: How bad can it be?" at UC Boulder's Inside the Greenhouse climate and comedy video competition. We have also created a video about what a Green New Deal could look like to help South Africa recover post Covid-19 while ensuring a just transition for our heavily coal-dependent economy. I am personally very interested in learning more about Doughnut economics and exploring its relevance to African economies and helping to popularise the concept in this part of the world.

As an applied anthropologist, I study cultural shifts and illuminate the changing ways in which people live and work in cities. As DIrector of Human City, I conduct mixed methods research to help property investors, development and asset management teams, and other stakeholders to report and measure social value at a time of economic, technological and social transformation. By understanding local needs and strengthening local partnerships, I enables clients to attract diverse audiences, capture new markets, and achieve long-term operational returns.

I was born in the most biodiverse country in the world yet a country with lack of social and economic stability. This instability forced me from a very young age to become an immigrant in the promise land of opportunities, the United States of America. I was very fortunate gained a professional education as an Industrial Designer as one of my main passions is art. Industrial design seemed to open an opportunity to keep my biggest passion of art while being able to create enough money to sustain myself. After 9 years of working in the field, I made a drastic decision to change my career path towards sustainability. So in 2019, I quit my job at Samsonite and moved across the pond to pursue my MSc in Sustainability, Entrepreneurship and Design at Brunel University. I recently submitted my dissertation and at the moment I am looking at the horizon seeking to set my future goals and start taking my next steps towards a career in sustainability and the circular economy.

I am Italian, living in the Netherlands. My ambition is to contribute to develop a truly sustainable society by connecting people and projects within an international and interdisciplinary context. My background is in chemistry (master in Chemistry at the University of Trieste (IT), PhD in Chemistry and Postdoc in Chemical Engineering at the University of Groningen (NL) and next to my work as R&D Project Manager I like to engage myself in volunteering activities where I can use both my scientific background as well as my social skills in projects focused on sustainability. Therefore, with a group of people from the italian region Friuli Venezia Giulia, we recently founded a non-profit organisation "ReGeneration Hub Friuli" with the aim of connecting people who want to become the Generation of ReThinking, ReDesigning, ReCycling, ReDistributing, ReGenerating. In this context, we organise a yearly annual festival “NanoValbruna” (www.nanovalbruna.com), which brings together scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers, professionals and young people in a small mountain community of the Julian Alps, where they engage themselves in activities focused on ecosystem protection, sustainability, and circular economy.

Hey, I'm a German-English bilingual conversion copywriter for sustainable businesses. In 2017, I simply could no longer ignore the fact that people and planet will soon go to **** if we don’t get our act together. If we want to make sustainability the norm, we need more sustainable communication. If we want people to take more responsibility, we need more responsible communication. If we want to break down the barriers that keep us from working together, we need communication that connects us. That’s why I started From Scratch — my copy agency. Because to stop climate change, save species from dying and make society more humane, we need a radical rethink. We need a culture change. Which means, we need to harness the best that the humanities have to offer — from design thinking and UX practices to ecolinguistics, from psychology to socio-political studies.
