I am a psychologist and Gaiana. My concerns started with the realization that economic growth was not leading us to a place of social equality or mental health. We are getting sicker each day and not solving the root of the problem. So today I host an online learning community that brings together people interested in changing the paradigm of leadership, management and economics for a world that takes care of people and the regeneration of the Earth. This year we organized a facilitated study group of the Doughnut Economics in Brazil with more than 200 participants.

As a senior member of Oxford University, I contributed to establishing the Centre for Environmental Change and, following a meeting with Anita Roddick, proposed the MSc in Environmental Change & Management which is still running today. At Wolfson College I worked with social psychologist Michael Argyll who proved that "greed does not lead to joy" and introduced me to Fox's research on power & trust relations. Inspired by Fox and Roddick's "Body and Soul", I initiated Durham University's Centre for Applied Ethics and Relational Studies aimed at drawing together "Business as Unusual" concepts , e.g. "Complex Responsive Process Theory of Relating", the "Triple Bottom Line" and "After Virtue" - all in tune with Doughnut Economics. I initiated Business Ethics teaching, on which Durham Business School's current ERS strategy was founded, contributed to developing HEFCE's Sustainable Development Strategy, and now teach Corporate Responsibility to undergraduates at Durham Business School.

So happy to be part of this community! I'm an Industrial Engineer passionate about fighting climate change and for social justice. Almost accidentally I ended up working for most of my career in change management and innovation. Currently, I'm leading the innovation efforts in a small consultancy in the NW Spain looking for more sustainable ways of using our natural resources, with a special focus on fisheries and fishing communities.

I retired early from my career in technology sales. The culture of corporate America was no longer working for me. Specifically the idea that there is a moral space, where as long as you are not breaking the law, your only responsibility was to shareholder value and pursuit of profit. Full acceptance of this leaves little space to connect with your values and principles. As I dug deeper into the concepts of Doughnut Economics the decision to retire from my professional job was a no-brainer. It was a purposeful transition from years of accumulating, to focusing on how to thrive so that I could live the concepts. This in turn has freed up my time and attention capacity to make sense of the current situation of the world, understand the underlying systems, and determine how I can contribute to help make positive change. I came to DEAL to find guidance on how to take action.

Unlearning is both hard and liberating. My journey is only beginning, in the interconnectedness of everything and the deliberate choice to see good and beauty around me. really should be the real revolution to that brings people together!

I'm a Director at Ambos Cohousing Limited. We are looking to shift our culture of home provision, from a market to commons based economic model. I also practice Architecture in my spare time, focused on community-led development using circular economic principles.
