Hi! I believe in the power of business as a force for good and that like sunflowers - we will grow taller and stronger and faster if we are motivated by things that are light and full of hope. One of my favourite quotes from Hamilton is 'scratch that this is not a moment, it's the movement'. I also think accountants will save the world.

I have a Masters in Development with a thesis on microenterprise development in Indigenous society. I recently completed my certification in Business Sustainability Management from the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, where I became much more integrated in the workings of 'Doughnut Economics'. I have worked in the Energy sector for close to two decades, predominantly with oil and gas clients, but more recently with hydroelectricity and solar. My principal focus has been Indigenous engagement in Western Canada, concentrating on economic development in impacted communities. Prior to my work in Western Canada I worked with Mayan communities in Guatemala, managing the UNCTAD program 'EMPRETEC' for entrepreneurs. Next to my family, my greatest passions are writing and soccer.

Reorienting life around the climate crisis | Decade of comms experience now offering workshops, mentoring and words. Founder of With Many Roots, UK Co-ordinator of Climate Collage; head up communications at If Not Us Then Who?; and co-ordinates Green New Deal UK Bristol Hub, amongst other climate change related activities. With a decade’s communications experience I professionalised my concern for the climate: the true weight of the problem did not sink in for many years. Whilst slowly creeping towards a more ethical lifestyle, I turned towards activism with fervour after reading the UN’s climate report in October 2018. That report – and letting myself feel it – changed everything. After travelling for 4 years I have returned to the UK to be as useful as I can in the time we’ve got left. My focus is impact. So I offer one-to-one mentoring, group workshops, and a growing writing practice. Holding a safe space for difficult topics.

Mechanical Engineer specialized on Urban Sustainable Technologies by Buenos Aires University. My master thesis mixed anthropology and engineering on an effort to design based on social practices. Right now I am coordinating a citizen-led initiative do develop a youth local manifesto for my hometown, Anadia, in Center Portugal. The answers from an inquiry made to the population reveal that the Doughnut might give the directions to answer the challenges identified.

I'm a dramaturg working in artistic development for the theatre and wider performance sector. My work is predominantly concerned with narrative and the creation of inclusive systems in which artists can do their best work. I'm curious about the role of the arts in amplifying the narrative around DE and how I might apply my storytelling skills to the work. I'm interested in how the cultural sector can embrace DE.

Humanity is in the most pervasive crisis of its history. It affects every level from psychology, society, economy, politics to nature and spirituality. So whether we approach the current chaos from a spiritual, cosmological, social, political or ecological or economic angle, it is all relevant. But a great basis to start with is to take action in the economy, the community. Kate Raworth's Doughnut model is by far the best I have seen to work with, because it is intuitive and deals with the two most practical aspects of economy: its foundation in nature and the necessity for a just society. My name is Rob, I am 64 years old, born in Holland, now reforesting an area in the Mata Atlantica area of Brazil.
