Built a proprietary and impactful emerging markets research team for a global hedge fund to provide successful investments.   Worked in London, Singapore, and New York. Pivoted to Sustainability and went back to school to make it happen. Graduated from Columbia this summer with an M.S in Sustainability Management.

Shama recently launched UpStudio Africa, a design and innovation studio for children in Tanzania aimed at nurturing and empowering the next generation of African entrepreneurs, scientists, innovators, designers, and creators starting at a very young age. She also serves as a board member for Ubongo Tanzania and Aga Khan Education Services Tanzania. Before launching UpStudio Africa, Shama was a Senior Project Manager at Dalberg Advisors where she co-led the Education to Employment as well as the Early Years Development practice areas globally.

Hello from Cascadia!  I reside in a valley South West of Portland OR (USA). I am a Christian minister, an organic gardener, and work for our local Food Bank. I have a daughter who is a graduate student in matters of preservation and creation of new dimensions for earthlings to live corporately, justly, and creatively together. I am new to some of these spheres being explored here, but eager to learn more. I would like to see my community and neighborhood incorporate some of the findings presented here.
