Hello from Cascadia! I reside in a valley South West of Portland OR (USA). I am a Christian minister, an organic gardener, and work for our local Food Bank. I have a daughter who is a graduate student in matters of preservation and creation of new dimensions for earthlings to live corporately, justly, and creatively together. I am new to some of these spheres being explored here, but eager to learn more. I would like to see my community and neighborhood incorporate some of the findings presented here.

After 7 years in the marketing industry helping clients grow their businesses, I have made a conscious choice to dedicate myself to making positive transformations needed in a wide range of services and sectors for better social, economic, and environmental outcomes. I'd like to create more awareness of the sustainable economy as part of the DEAL Community.

Since 2015 I have been active in sustainability, first importing sustainable products to Chile and since 2017 with my foundation Plastic Oceans Chile. I work both on a local as a global level, solving plastic pollution upstream and downstream. I believe the doughnut model to be a great way of adressing systemic challenges and to provide a pathway that will take pressure of our planetary boundaries. I´m looking forward to discovering the action lab and learning from others who have been applying the doughnut model in practice.

I currently work as a researcher, and a lecturer in the department of biomedical engineering at the University of Galway. My interest in sustainability and going green comes from long term exposure to life-science based research where an alarming amount of plastic and biohazard waste is generated. I lecture in the circular and doughnut economies to post graduate MSc and PhD students from various backgrounds. Working closely with Galway Green labs, my goal is to ensure that the University of Galway Sustainability Strategy objective of getting labs green certified is achieved by 2025.
