Denzil Monk is a producer, social entrepreneur and academic. He is Project Lead for A Case for Cornish Public Service Media, an innovative research project and social movement that intends a transformational shift in attitudes towards Cornwall and Cornish people, language and culture, designing a regenerative new paradigm of public service media fit for the 21st century. A lecturer in film at the School of Film & Television, Falmouth University, where he combines research, teaching and innovation practice, Denzil was Associate Producer on Mark Jenkin’s breakout BAFTA winning film Bait (2018), and with backing from Film4 is producing his next feature Enys Men at independent production company Bosena.

Jay is a co-founder of the Totnes REconomy Project, Local Spark Torbay, and a lecturer on postgraduate economics programmes at Schumacher College. He co-developed the Transition Network REconomy Project’s Local Economic Blueprint course and handbook, co-founded the REconomy Centre, and developed the Local Entrepreneur Forum model. He has worked with groups in many communities picking up these models. He has also developed a course on ‘Citizen-led Economics’, as well as led workshops and given talks in Europe, USA and Japan.
