I am an independent consultant: I lead companies in developing a culture of sustainability that they can translate into a real competitive advantage and then in designing an effective communication strategy. Without any risk of greenwashing. I develop the strategic story design of sustainability to accelerate a positive transformation of production, use (enough talking about consumption!) and socialization strategies, strategies that lead to the regeneration of environmental, economic and social systems. My method is design thinking as a meeting point between research, stakeholder engagement, storytelling and digital. For increasingly "human-centric", empathic and relevant brands. I live in Parma, so nothing is close but not too far either. I love to move and then come back. I connect the dots, facilitate teamwork, train talents. I consider myself a pollinator.

Professional musician for 40+ years, longterm pacifist, atheist, and member of XR (extinction rebellion) Bath. I originally trained as a Chemical Engineer and I maintain a keen interest in scientific matters and I try to bring that discipline to assessing the validity of current (political) initiatives and ideas. I believe that there is usually two sides to any contentious issues. I was always suspicious of the idea of continual growth and agnostic about Economics as a discipline, so Kate Raworth’s book made complete sense to me.

Christchurch City
Kia ora everyone My name is Paul Donnelly, I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. In 2011 the city suffered a major earthquake, slowly but surely the city has been rebuilt into a vibrant and modern city. However, we are not an island we belong to a global community and with that we too have to face the many challenges that the rest of the natural and human family have to face. If we are to thrive on this planet, we are going to have to live and think differently.

I am an enthusiast who loves to learn and apply more about economics, I recently came across its Ecological and Environmental perspective. I think it's a great initiative to put forward future needs in terms of environmental and ecological concerns.

I am a lecturer in development studies, international political economy, human rights, sustainability and the environment, with a special focus on Latin America. My current research concerns indigenous peoples’ rights across the Americas in relation to the extractive industries, envisaging a gradual move away from commodity exports towards a localization of production and consumption. I am a regular contributor to the Latin America Bureau, and author of Global Governance of the Environment, the Rights of Nature and Indigenous Peoples: Extractive Industries in the Ecuadorian Amazon (Palgrave Macmillan 2022).

Steven George is an Earth Observation Technology and Systems Engineer at the European Space Agency (ESA) based in Noordwijk, Netherlands. He holds an MSc in Physics and an MSc in Astronautics & Space Engineering. Steven has a diverse background in volunteer work, including engaging in national student space initiatives, contributing to UN Volunteers mapping initiatives, and founding new initiatives and clubs. He endeavours to use his experience, time, and voice to bridge that gap between science, policy, and the public for an existence where humans, non-human animals, and the planet co-exist sustainability and in peace. He primarily campaigns on behalf of the plant based treaty. A global initiative aimed at advocating for the inclusion of a plant-based treaty on the agenda of international discussions, notably at the COP meetings. This treaty underlines the shift towards an entirely animal agriculture-free food system, seen as a pivotal remedy for addressing the climate crisis.

I am retired from paid employment, having had a number of careers in data analytics, then management consultancy, then a variety of leadership roles in UK-based charities. I've had a number of formal and informal roles working with charities and other for-benefit initiatives. Most notably having chaired three charities, and setting up Innovira to become a catalyst for developing and sharing good ideas and practices - though it is early days for this. I've lived in Bath, in the South West of England, for over 30 years, and now try to use my experience and time to support activists and thinkers who are trying to make a difference locally. The Doughnut model captures what I've thought intuitively for decades, and will hopefully be an effective model to help good decision making, and get stuff done.

Hello! I’m Dana, a youth from Trinidad and Tobago. I’m currently an Economist pursuing my PhD in Economic Development Policy. With a passion for Sustainable Development, I have been fascinated by Doughnut Economics (I remember reading the book as it came out, within hours haha). Since then, I've been looking into ways which the Caribbean Region can adopt the Model to propel its growth and development! I’m super excited to be joining this community to not only offer my ideas, but to learn and interact with the like individuals!

An incoming sophomore at Ashoka University, India, pursuing B.Sc. Economics & Finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship. I’m passionate about economics and I’m currently beginning a new economics podcast at my university. Just having wrapped up my internship at Ernst & Young, I am looking to shift my focus to joining the community. I cook to destress. When my mind feels troubled or in need for something peaceful, I resort to cooking/baking. Some music to go along with it is lovely. What brings me to the DEAL community is the urge to join a large community where talented and passionate folks inspire each other and motivate the community to work more in the field.
