Retired mechanical engineer who has been active in a local retail food cooperative, serving on the board of directors for 8 years.  I am very interested in sustainability in everyday life, especially things that can be done now.  In my engineering career I have designed and implemented technological improvements to manufacturing systems. I have seen the power and payoff of changes  to existing systems. I have also seen the destructive power and catastrophic costs to the same systems when changes go wrong.  Doing something is essential to moving forward.
