Hello I'm Rob and I've worked in the world of social business and social innovation for most of my working life - getting on for 25 years now. I started out working for a fairtrade cooperative in Leeds and then I worked for a few different organisations, supporting people to set up and run social enterprises. In 2010 I co-founded a social enterprise which aims to develop creative, collaborative solutions to complex problems. We set up various projects including Empty Homes Doctor and Zero Waste Leeds. I left SBB in May 2023 and I am currently exploring what to focus on next. I'm a big fan of Doughnut Economics - I loved the book and I really like the focus on both the social and the environmental - you can't focus on one without thinking about the other. I'm interested too in the circular economy - and more than anything I want to continue to explore ways we can respond to the #climateemergency. I write here on Substack and have written here about Doughnut Economics.

Part of Community Hub Suffolk (CHIp) a cic set up to occupy empty spaces in Ipswich and makes them available to the community in various different ways. As places for creatives to make, display and sell what they create, places for people to meet up and run FREE meetups; such as film club, drumming circle, mending circle, artist morning, musicians meet up, writers group, games sessions, knowledge exchange; a space to run early evening music and spoken word events, and private hires and much more. As part of the advisory group for CHIp I have taken on the role of expanding to include a tool library and am looking for advice from groups that have already got one up and running.

I'm a marketing and digital consultant with 20 years of experience in marketing/communications and 6 in sustainability. I support changemakers that accelerate the transition to a future where people thrive in balance with the living world. I do this via mentoring, leading, steering, overseeing, advising on or evaluating: - Marketing/digital marketing/social media strategies, campaigns, projects and operating plans that improve effectiveness - with the right resources, skills, governance and stakeholder alignment. - Digital marketing audit of channels, platforms, technology, skills or providers against objectives, best practice, competitors or regulation such as the Green Claims Code. - Marketing technology (effective, responsible, ethical use). - Building, bonding, growing, retaining and developing marketing/digital talent and functions. Over the past year, I've been doing research to understand what the most impactful ways are for addressing the intersecting crisis we’re facing (climate, ecology, economy, mental health, etc.) - so I can focus my energy there. Doughnut Economics has stood out as one of the most holistic solutions. I have read the book (and related resources) a few times, watched and attended DEAL workshops and sessions at events. I have also been spreading the word about Doughnut Economics and trying to embed it in my work. Particularly interested in: and joining up marketing and DE

I have spent over 25 years in marketing and advertising as a creative strategist, or Account Planner as they're called in the industry. I have made adverts for a wide range of clients, for food, snacks, beauty products, cars, cleaning brands, charities, and many more. I used psychology, behavioural economics, and marketing science to encourage people to buy my client's products. I am concerned by the impact advertising has on people and the environment. It helps drive over-consumption and creates dissatisfaction. I want to use the skills I've learned to help tackle these issues, to help people consume less and be happier for it.

Husband, Father, Son, Brother and world revolves around them. Director of an independent consulting firm that is how I earn to provide for my family and friends. Originally from Kolkata India and settled in London for last 18 years after working around Asia (Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney etc). Generally concerned that planet will not survive this hunger for economic growth. We are the first generation to feel the impact of the destruction of Earth and the last generation who can actually prevent it. I want our children to have a chance, hope to reverse all harm we and our parents' generation have done.
