Hi! I'm Tom, a civil engineering consultant based in Bournemouth. I graduated with an MEng in civil engineering from the University of Southampton in 2020 and now work for a professional services consultancy who support Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) council with the design of their urban infrastructure. I grew up as a British expat in The Netherlands surrounded by examples of Dutch sustainable urban design and active travel infrastructure. Using this lived experience I'm pursuing opportunities within the design and planning of urban areas, and maintain a special interest in how the public realm impacts community mental health and wellbeing. Alongside work I sit on the Board of Trustees and Chair an international development charity, Cameroon Catalyst, who are currently delivering the second instalment of a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programme across some of the least developed communities in Cameroon.

I help people and companies to think differently. As a cultivated rebel, I`m not any smarter than anyone else in the room. Often the opposite. The difference is that I have organized my ignorance better. Clients I`ve worked with: Finn.no, TechnipFMC, Choice, MAD architects, Zinc, reMarkable, Norad, Obos and many more.

I have been interested and working with sustainable development from I left school and got my first job as an environmental health officer. My way or method was through the Natural Steps. (The Natural Step is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded in Sweden in 1989 by scientist Karl-Henrik Robèrt.) Today I am Head of the Environmental protection division in the Municipality of Vadstena. I have had similar work in other municipalities but also for the Government at the County Administrative Board. The work with environmental protection goes hand in hand with sustainable development in my way of seeing things. Privately I have the opportunity to “engage” with sustainable issues in the Secular Franciscan Order and as an animator in the Laudato si-movement in the Catholic Church. A great way to learn and get an interest in environmental and sustainable issues is to become a beekeeper! My bees do a tremendous work to pollinate the surrounding forest.

As a social entrepreneur I believe that business can drive positive social change, facilitate a fairer distribution of wealth and build strong communities. I am committed to the idea that business has a vital and urgent role to play in shaping our society and I enjoy the structure that B Corp have brought to this space, a critical analysis of an organisation's practises and intent. I have trained as a B Leader so that I can help businesses on their journey to B Corp status. I am looking for opportunities in learning and development, employability and opportunities to use business as a force for good.

Enthusiastic and energy spreader are some of the soft skills that makes me a life passionate. Married and father of 2 (10 and 4yo couple), I consider myself a hedonist and an epicurist. Enjoying all the pleasures life have to offer, try to practice a work-hard-play-hard/YOLO positioning. Humanist by heart and Illuminist by mind. Liberal regarding the markets, conservative regarding customs. Love to cook and Lego collector, Benfica supporter

I steward for our living planet. planet-friend, supertramp, teacher of swimming, hitchhiker, et al. specialised in sustainable finance and economics. all for movement, adventure and nature therapy. she/her with a fondness for the singular they/them. I spent my formative years in the Silicon Valley of India and since, have gathered experience in climate finance, sustainable project management, content creation, stakeholder engagement, research, and more Excel than I'd like. I've listened to stories in parts of England and Wales, hitchhiked 7000km from Iran through continental Europe, and found some truths living in the beautiful Pacific North-West.
