I've been on the path of understanding and enabling innovation for almost 30 years. Love the journey as it invites me to deep dive into many topics such as creativity, collaboration & diversity, leadership - and not least: sustainability. Since first proclaiming publicly in 2011, I now declare without hesitation: any innovation needs sustainability considerations at its core, anything else is irresponsible, given the challenges humanity and our beautiful planet face. Love to trigger insights for others, be it in at universities, via workshops and seminars, public speaking or writing. I was born and grew up in Kiel, in the north of Germany, where I also did my first degree (architecture & town planning). In 1990 I moved to the UK, to do my MBA and then PhD at London Business School, worked independently at the boundary between business and academia, had two wonderful boys (now well on their own journeys). Since March 2021 I am back in germany, living in Munich, and absolutely loving it

I'm the founder of Profit Impact and was once caught in the 90-day shareholder trap. I delivered the numbers that shareholders wanted to see, but that was completely and obviously unachievable. Having spent over a decade in operational finance, I qualified in sustainable finance at Cambridge Institute, and am now a proud B Leader; a training program, designed by B Lab UK, to empower people who want to lead organisations through the B Corp certification. I lead on sustainability matters for ACCA in The Practice Room – global peer-to-peer community discussions dedicated to supporting small and medium-sized practices.

Learning about collaboration. innovation and cooperation and how best to enable it to work at scale. Conventional mainstream paradigms are unlikely to provide tools that will drive the scale of change needed at the pace needed, so we need new thinking.

Doughnut Economics is an inspirational text, and I am keen to be part of building it out to change our economy and society. I am the Sustainability lead at SUMS Consulting – we are a not-for-profit membership organisation providing consultancy services to the university sector, mostly in the UK. One aim is to make universities run sustainably and in harmony with their place. Universities are also at the centre of knowledge production and can make big contributions to the paradigm shift through their research, education and ability to bring people together. I hope to learn from this community and share ideas for change – both for my work and for living my own life.

Hi, I am Ted. I am a student changemaker at Frankfurt International School (FIS). I have been part of the FIS Changemaker program since the beginning (November 2020) where a group of students, participated in the JUMP! training to work on their leadership skills. We learned many new skills, which we decided to use to create change in our school and beyond. From then on, we were the FIS changemakers. Initially, it was only me and a group of about 10 dedicated students (and some very helpful teachers) which has now grown to many hundreds! We, realized that we need to go beyond academics and think about community engagement, global understanding and a toolbox for reasonable, feasible and sustainable change. We had to create changemakers, starting at a young age, that could cope with the problems the future generations will face. To achieve this, our first major action was the changemaker conference, action packed with speeches and workshops, one of which, was my Donut Economics Workshop.
