Institut Darul Ridzuan
We aspire to be a renowned Think Tank in the socio-economic development of Perak Darul Ridzuan by conducting high-quality research and providing innovative recommendations that are relevant, practical, and impactful, in line with the aspirations of Perak State.
We conduct research in socio-economic development affairs to gain insight into local issues, contexts, and indigenous knowledge. With the right and impactful information, we advise and assist the state government in its policy development and implementation.

Hi DEAL Community. I am currently leading the Doughnut Economics Initiative for Ipoh together with the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato, Rumaizi. Our core team comprises personnel from Ipoh City Council and Institut Darul Ridzuan, state of Perak think tank. We had the greatest pleasure of having Kate with us here on the 23 August 2022, during Perak Sejahtera 2030: State Leadership Summit 2022. Our Doughnut Economics journey started in February 2022. Ipoh as Doughnut Economics City is set as one of Perak Sejahtera 2030 flaghsip program. Perak Sejahtera 2030 is Perak's development blueprint recently launched by the Chief Minister, Dato' Seri Saarani, on the 15th of June 2022. Dr. Menaka Ganeson is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Perak Malaysia. Her research focuses on microbiology (environmental & plant) and crop-fertilizer management. The details of her research are written below: • To identify the interaction between the microbes and their ecosystem for energy and environment sustainability. (current project deals with the methanogenesis process in hydraulic fractured shale under controlled conditions) • To deal with fungal pathogens and plant defense responses (biochemical reactions) causing plant disease (Oil palm-Ganoderma basal stem rot) • Application of nano-fertilizer application to enhance plant growth and productivity (commercialization project) Beyond research in academia, her passion is to integrate research products or outcomes to solve industry-social problems.
