Klimatsekretariatet

Klimatsekretariatet aims to contribute to an accelerated climate transition. We work for a transition to a fossil-free and sustainable world. We believe that climate, environment, and social equality are inseparable parts of the necessary societal transformation that we want to contribute to.

We popularise climate science with a strong focus on local carbon budgets. Our main focus is on the Swedish municipalities and regions, where we help to calculate and learn to use a carbon budget. We also engage in a broader effort to increase the awareness and understanding of carbon budgets (for example, insights of the cumulative nature of carbon dioxide emissions) in society. We arrange conferences, participate in research and development, develop a carbon budget tool (www.climatevisualizer.com), and create educational material.
