I am an urban development specialist from South Africa. I am passionate about working with like-minded people to contribute to the creation of cities that provide equal opportunities for all, while developing sustainably, within the planetary boundaries. What really excites me about doughnut economics is the aim to tackle inequality while also dealing with climate change. It is difficult (potentially overwhelming) trying to deal with both pressing issues, and more often than not, they’re disconnected in implementation. I am excited about exploring the doughnut principles in more detail in the developing world/South African city context, where basic needs have not yet been met and poverty, inequality and unemployment are rife.

Hi all Tom here. I am based in Amsterdam since 2019. I live in the east of the city and spend my time enjoying the city, its parks and its people. I first read Kate Raworth's book in 2020 after putting it off for some time. I am a Business graduate and long time skeptic of the status quo where economics is concerned. The book was an energy boost to help un learn so much of my previous education.

Kia ora! I am involved in long-term city planning and interested in connecting with other people who have applied the doughnut economics model, especially to small/med city settings (100k<). I am also currently finishing a Master of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at Massey and so also keen to meet with others who have had some success in localising the SDGs. #cityplanning #longtermplanning #strategy #policy #urban #community #sustainability

I am a recent graduate from Germany interested in how cities and communities try to implement Doughnut Economics into sustainability strategies. I studied Transformational Studies in Flensburg and wrote my Master thesis on how the city of Amsterdam is trying to use the Doughnut as part of their urban sustainability agenda. I also worked with the NELA Next Economy Lab (Bonn, GER) on a project producing educational material for NGOs und municipalities that are trying to put the Doughnut into action.

Founder of Make It Good which is dedicated to accelerating regenerative futures. Most recently part of the Oxfordshire Doughnut Project Team. Funded by Oxfordshire County Council and hosted by Aspire, the project seeks to accelerate understanding of Doughnut Economics in application across three core work streams - developing a preliminary data portrait as a springboard for engagement, understanding how to move from impact assessment to doughnut-informed Decision Making Wheel, and to consider how to begin to apply these tools to strategic economic planning in Oxfordshire.

I am a Storyteller and Sustainability Campaigner. based in Nepal-USA and work on three platforms: StoryCycle.org -- an initiative that places stories of people, communities and their pain points at the heart of the solutions we design, GreenGrowth.life -- an online marketplace that sources and sells organically grown and sustainably produced products, and DreamCities.org -- an enterprise that focuses on empowering local youth and communities to take active part in making their communities vibrant using technology. I coached on different changemaker programs with the lenses of well-being (self), inclusivity (society) and resourcefulness (nature) through igniting individual and collective capacities to service humanity. Recently I am working on Youth Cohort on Green Solution 2023 aims to support the development of new, exciting, and innovative ideas for sustainable enterprise which will harness nature-based solutions and practices to promote positive environmental impacts and climate change resilience in the city of Euless, Texas. And in 2022/23 I work on 'In Our Hands' , a new opportunity for young people to get involved in the creative green economy and inclusive climate action in collaboration with the British Council and other partners and planning for a similar program this year. I try to adapt ecologically conscious life to campaign for sustainable lifestyle and Nature Based Solutions, I cycle everywhere, promote local production, and 4r’s (Reduce, Recycle, Refuse, Reuse). I have also led many plantation programs to enhance the greenery of different cities. In 2012 I traveled a 99 days long trek GHT (Great Himalayan Trail) and told the story of the mountain to the world. After coming back I took my interest in impact based storytelling seriously and formulated Storycamps which is a thematic storytelling workshop using digitals tools. In 2014, with Google Earth, I traveled to Everest base camp, with which he accessed various informative contents. I recently moved to Seattle, Washington, from Michigan, where I continue to write and be active in fighting to abate the climate crisis.
