I am the Chairperson of Circular Economy FNQ, where we are building a Transition Accelerator Lab for circular economy solutions in regional and remote Australia.  Through Shopping Centres in Homework Centres as the kids are the people who inherit and run what we are building. Our purpose is to create a high-trust, collaborative environment linking schools, universities, industry, First Nations knowledge holders, and community, to accelerate practical solutions for regenerative agriculture, decarbonised re-manufacturing, and cost-of-living resilience in hubs through third places - like Shopping Centres, CWA halls and Libraries. At the core of our work are three interconnected systems projects: Environmental systemWe are advancing biogenic iron dust, BID, research and Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) especially in the Antarctic Circumpolar Current as part of an Ocean Treaty pathway, recognising phytoplankton as a critical lever in climate regulation. This work connects Desert communities with Ocean communities and breaks down barriers of difference.  Where I reside within the World Heritage “sandwich” — the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest — sustainable mining of BID through science-led Citizen Science camps and extra-curricular programs aligning with globally aligned ocean governance.  exOIS. Social systemUsing the new currencies toolkit, we design mechanisms that ensure circular economy profits and extended life-cycle practices actively reduce the cost of living, support minimum income security, and keep value circulating locally. SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) are non-negotiable foundations of this work, ensuring disadvantaged communities—especially women and young people—are not excluded from the emerging circular industrial economy. Built & industrial systemWe focus on demand reduction first, through passive housing, tiny homes, housed through caravan-park pathways that reduce energy draw and utility costs. This is complemented by open-source micro-factories delivering waste-to-energy and re-manufacturing solutions designed specifically for regional conditions. Across all projects, we are measuring what Kate Raworth describes as the regional “layer cake”—social foundations and ecological ceilings—because Far North Queensland is exceptionally rich in natural capital. We work closely with First Nations peoples, the planet’s original scientists and engineers, recognising that their knowledge systems are essential to understanding and stewarding complex living systems. I am also the founder of We Made It Better for the Planet Pty Ltd, which delivers a waste to energy Microfactory in an Open Source delivery model to achieve SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) in full across the regions we expand into. Fifty percent of profits are reinvested into SDG10 Reduced Inequalities and SDG5 Gender Equality and SDG14 - Ocean Treaty & Environmental Science extra-curricular Camps and Homework Centres. All of this work is being the foundation for my Master’s in Data Science thesis, reporting via feedback loops of the application of system thinking using the DEAL framework, the Sustainable Development Goals, and ISO 59000-aligned ESG metrics, including Blue Carbon-credit methodologies linked to phytoplankton research through Ocean Pastures in the Global South -driving climate regulation—an approach to climate action widely supported by leaders such as Sir David Attenborough.

This is how the book Rosquilla Economy came to be and after reading it I began to think about how to apply it in my region. I am Brazilian and I live in the Atlantic Forest in the Southeast region of the country, in Vale do Paraíba - between Serra da Mantiqueira and Serra do Mar. I have been a sustainabilityist for 20 years and I have been working with communication and socio-environmental education since then. Regeneration, nature, forests, conservation, climate, communication, humanism, socialtechnology are some of the topics that interest me.  A few years ago, I was very interested when I found out about the book Donut Economy and bought it to learn more about this dimension of sustainability. I recently found the Donut Brasil whatsapp group and joined in early 2022, when I had the opportunity to participate in the Reading Club to study the book's chapters and, since then, I've been learning, unlearning, exchanging and getting inspired about the thoughts, doings and relevant local and planetary issues that lead us to distributive and regenerative economies...

Veel ondernemers en bestuurders worstelen met vragen rondom de transitie naar nieuwe verdienmodellen. De noodzaak hiertoe wordt onderkend, maar hoe begin je en wat ga je tegenkomen… Als koploper duurzaam ondernemen ken ik de uitdagingen van een transitie naar nieuwe houdbare verdienmodellen als geen ander. Ik doorloop met mijn bedrijf een dergelijk traject en weet waar de uitdagingen en vooral waar de kansen liggen. Via allerlei netwerken sta ik in contact met onderwijs, wetenschap en andere duurzame ondernemers. Hierdoor ben ik in staat als “transitiegids” organisaties snel op weg te helpen om daarmee de continuïteit voor de organisatie zeker te stellen. I studied economics and started questioning the economic models. This is how I first learned about the donut economy - a new approach which I find very inspiring. I want to help spread the word and make people aware that there are different approaches besides capitalisms out there - more social more sustainable. Less is more and growth is not always the solution for everything. We need to understand to give and let those societies grow which really need it. I'm very much interested in city projects like the one in Amsterdam which apply the donut approach for the first time. Those are projects which really inspire and show that different ways are possible.

I’m a Berlin-based consultant that brings a wealth of experience in corporate affairs, organisational culture and   management,  and engagement strategies. My journey has taken me through co-founding and being active in a student business ethics network, several years in the space of global health and business impact model innovation within Big Pharma, experiencing first-hand the joys and challenges of being an intrapreneur and recently working at B Lab Switzerland (a local NGO, part of a global movement to use business as a force for good). Since September 2022, I have started pursuing a more entrepreneurial path as a consultant to be able to fully live my purpose and passion of encouraging people to be true to ourself, our values and take action to co-creating systemic change. I hold a Bachelor degree in International Cultural and Business Studies and a Master degree in Development Economics and Sustainability Management. Having lived, studied and worked in Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Peru and Bolivia, I am experienced in intercultural communications and working in international teams and organisations. I am fluent in German, English, Spanish and French and have knowledge of Italian. I am a citizen of Chile and the world. My interest in Doughnut Economics is due to the fact that I believe a new regenerative, inclusive, interconnected, and collaborative economic model is needed with urgency. We need to put the basic human needs and the environment in the center of discussions and policy making.  Changes to the current neoclassical model are taking place and have been accelerated due to the pressures of climate change and the recent COVID-19 which reframed the role of the state, civil society and companies to solve day-to-day pressures in an interconnected and efficient way.

I'm a civilian. Working on a website to give a view on how the world is doing. Where we are going.  Climate change is put into 4 topics: stratosphere / climate tipping points / global warming / 8 billion people After i made all the topics i will focus on 4 questions: World today / whats wrong / why/ where are we going The topics will guide through the questions.  After that's all done i will make a simple total overview. (right now i call it "climate card") By making 1 big line of the global temperature and putting the data inside this line.  Then making the 3 other topics (stratosphere, CTP, people)  into "supporting lines"

Carolina is a curious transdisciplinary educator, researcher, facilitator and grass-roots designer with seasoned experience working across industrial, product, service and systems design including the global ‘North’ and ‘South’ hemispheres. Biocentric sustainability, design for happiness & wellbeing, social innovation, pluriverse and systemic thinking shape her mindset as a pro-active agent of change. She has lectured extensively and her work has been published in journals and international peer reviewed conference proceedings.
