The current focus of her innovation efforts are related to  and systems automation solutions with an emphasis on behind the fence energy generation. She has over 25 years of sustainable energy experience from working in the private sector, government, and academia. She lived and worked in the UK for 7 years where she conducted post-graduate research into  at the University of Leeds. She also served as the Senior Officer at Leeds City Council following the UK’s Home Energy Conservation Act (1995). Anouk has been recognised for her contributions to societal  , and including advancement of women in the workplace (Knovo Award 2016 and INSEAD Business as a Force for Good 2019) and has earned accolades for her leadership in environmental preservation (Emerald Award 2017 and Clean50 2020). She was born and currently resides in Calgary, Alberta and holds a B.Sc. in  from the University of Calgary.

I studied economics and started questioning the economic models. This is how I first learned about the donut economy - a new approach which I find very inspiring. I want to help spread the word and make people aware that there are different approaches besides capitalisms out there - more social more sustainable. Less is more and growth is not always the solution for everything. We need to understand to give and let those societies grow which really need it. I'm very much interested in city projects like the one in Amsterdam which apply the donut approach for the first time. Those are projects which really inspire and show that different ways are possible.

The Doughnut is a very interesting concept. I'm looking to learn more, and connect with people who are already using the tools actively. Until 2021 I used to work in the company my father founded, making unusual lighting fixtures. Due to a change of shareholders after my father's passing away, the company was sold. I'm looking for new things to do, but not as caterpillar manufacturer anymore. I'm specially interested in supporting projects in product design, architecture, urban planning, bicycles, projects run by women, projects that make the cities more friendly and livable, projects that help everyone to stop overconsumption

I quit my elementary school teaching job to be a full time climate activist.  I am involved with 350 Seattle and Extinction Rebellion Seattle among other groups.  People are behaving like zombies-- going through the 'business as usual' routines while the world burns and life dies.   I see many people still trying to work patiently with the system.  I think we should create our own plan instead of all working separately but I don't understand how to do it.
