I co-lead Good for Nothing Chester, a community group with over 400 volunteers that utilises the expertise of creative folk for collaborations that accelerate positive change across our communities. I am particularly proud of the consultation I led in evaluating the impact of Cheshire West’s original 15 year One City a plan. Check it out here http://chester.westcheshiregrowth.co.uk/one-city-plan/one-city-plan-review/. This lead to a complete rewrite of the plan that now places people and the planet at the heart of the economic development to ensure we can achieve Net Zero by 2045. I sit on the curriculum advisory board for Chester Zoo and have created an innovative postgraduate programme to develop the professional skills needed to meet the challenges of the climate crisis through conservation and sustainability education.

Angelika Jochemczyk-Cherni
Tarnowskie Góry (Poland)
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Angelika Jochemczyk-Cherni and I come from Tarnowskie Góry (city in the South of Poland). I have been a German teacher since 2002 and I'm working in a secondary school in Zabrze. I'm passionate about teaching, learning foreign languages and travelling. My passion for learning languages began 35 years ago, when I visited my grandparents in Germany. I decided not only to learn the German language but also to study it for becoming a teacher. I really love my job and I could teach for hours and interact with my students. I like to build things. I use my classroom as a platform to make websites, write stories and create games that my students get to troubleshoot for me. My second passion is travelling. Travelling gives me my greatest stories, most cherished memories and countless irreplaceable learnings. It teaches me about myself and other people. The most important thing that gives me travelling is to teach about humanity and gives me an appreciation, understanding and respect for different points of view and ways of life. And for travelling and understanding people I needed to learn not only German but also English, Italian and Tunisian.

Misty Novitch
Decatur, GA, USA
Hey y'all! I'm Misty, a long time activist / organizer based in metro-Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I'm a part of a coalition called the Life Reimagined Collaborative and we are creating the Game of Life Reimagined. Life Reimagined is a cooperative story-telling board game that parodies of the original game of Life. Players build a collective vision of a just and sustainable world on the timeline of the climate clock, because we're the only ones who can save us now. We are using Doughnut Economics as a board model in the game and would love to work with you to make this game happen! We want it to be a fun and useful tool for everyday people to learn, practice, and take action, doing what it takes to win. You can check out our short explainer post on instagram here, our longer pitch deck here, and you are invited to our coalition interest zoom meeting (register here) for the game on Thursday, February 13th, 2025, 8-9:30pm EST (New York City time). We are happy to meet with you one on one to discuss as this time doesn't work for all! Thanks for all you do to make a difference! Power to the People! [coalition zoom.jpg] [ ]

Cole Bartlett
Salt Lake City Utah
Cole Bartlett is passionate about helping create a sustainable and equitable world for all. He cares about education and helping create clarity around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) connection to blockchain. He gained this passion from a love of the outdoors while growing up in Vermont, and his studies at the University of New Hampshire where he received a bachelor's degree in Economics and a dual major in Sustainability. He is currently working on a project called Sustainable ADA where they are focused on helping connect blockchain technology to sustainability, specifically the Cardano blockchain. While participating in the Sustainability Dual Major he found this strong interest and passion for sustainability and making sustainable change. Part of this was from his experiences studying abroad in New Zealand through the Eco-quest educational center where he was focused on ecology and sustainability. After this experience, Cole continued through the Sustainability Dual Major, where he participated in a capstone. He helped educate children based in New Hampshire on what sustainability is, and was the kick start of the sustainability splash program at UNH. Another opportunity where Cole found a strong connection was while taking part in the B impact clinic. The Clinic connects teams of cross-discipline undergraduate students to serve as consultants for regional companies working to complete the B Impact Assessment (BIA). The BIA is a rigorous, open-access assessment tool that comprehensively assesses a company's impact. After spending time working in the blockchain space. He has learned and come back to the realization that education is one of the key aspects of life. That you should never stop learning or trying to learn new things. "We are on an educational journey for life that is constantly evolving and shifting." This has helped Cole find a new passion and love to continue to learn new things and to take every experience or learning opportunity possible. He is currently focused on helping make Cardano a blockchain for impact. This is through education and his focus on blockchain research. Working to further develop this research into tools to help track and trace the impact of business, including bringing more impact investing opportunities to the web3 space.

Born in north England in 1950, migrated to Australia in 1972 and enjoyed the carefree days of the Permaculture movement. Studied history, and architecture at University, then obtained a builders license and had a 30 year career in the construction industry, including "alternative" construction, mud brick, pole frame. In 1992 I shed tears as Severin Suzuki explained the plight of the world and since then climate change has occupied my life in many ways. I read Tim Jackson´s Prosperity Without Growth in 2009, the same year as the "last chance" Copenhagen COP collapsed. In 2011 I moved to Barcelona, arriving the day before 15M, and I became enchanted with the city and its people, and yet the official COP process produced only fairly tales of impossible promises "Decoupling", "Carbon offsets" "technological efficiencies" and the blatant fraud of Biomass accounting. I am extremely grateful to the ICTA pioneers, (GK, JH), and of course KR for bringing the doughnut to Barcelona, and am looking forward to seeing Tim Jackson soon. ALSO, BIG UP´s to ALL for the Beyond Growth forum at the E.U. I thought I would never see such an event !!!

Cork, Ireland
I'm an independent researcher based in Cork City, Ireland. I work with organisations in the community and voluntary sector, along with the public and private sectors. My interests in people, community, nature and our collective future all intersect around 'care'. I have come to the DEAL Community seeking to learn from people and groups who are applying Doughnut Economics to their lives, businesses and communities. I would like to connect with others interested in applying DE in Ireland at various spatial scales. I find Dr. Riane Eisler's 'partnership-domination social scale configuration' is a very helpful overarching framework for thinking about Doughnut Economics. Her 'cultural transformation theory's' four cornerstones offer a pathway to a caring economics (the 3rd cornerstone) along with 'childhood relations' (1st), 'gender relations' (2nd) and 'stories, narratives' (3rd). See more at: https://www.partnerism.org/ and https://centerforpartnership.org/
