Ssembatya Hikimah (He/Him) is a Graduate Artist from the college of engineering design art and technology (CEDAT) - Makerere university, A climate Activist, Educator, and a global art in medicine fellow. Currently Living and working in Uganda with the Culture Declares Emergency (CDE) as the National Director for Uganda and The Great Imagining (TGI) as the coordinator for Africa. He is also the Founder of African Visual Artists Associates (AVIAS), an organization working with advancement of creative education through initiation, development and delivery of workshops symposiums and exhibitions harness climate awareness, adaptation, and mitigation. He is also a projects manager at the nodding disease foundation Uganda & chairman executive committee at Aliferous Universe Foundation. For two years working within the context of climate change, art and activism (justice, just transition). I have now embarked on The Great Imagining Africa Newspaper project a first of its kind publication leveraging the plight of activism for young African innovators and creatives to find platform for support of their climate change ideas to present them to a bigger audience.

I am Chair and a non-executive director on the board of the Western Port Biosphere Foundation, responsible for stewardship of one of UNESCO's 748 globally recognised biosphere reserves. I then started my DE joruney by working on the Oxfordshire Doughnut Project Data Lead across the Four Lenses for the Preliminary Data Portrait (see my tools).  Since then, I worked with Andrew on the Doughnut Indicator Library spreadsheet, and currently work with Gallant (Glasgow DE) on their global indicators.  Now, I've just started my role as Doughnut Data Portrait Specialist, working on the Data Portrait tools for the community, and with practitioners developing and implementing portraits.
