The story of the think tank sportainable and how it came to join the Doughnut Economics Action Lab

I am passionate about all things humanitarian, community development, social entrepreneurship and disaster risk reduction. I hold a Bachelor in Business Administration and a MSc in Humanitarian Engineering. I worked as an Operations Manager for La Choza Chula, an NGO in Guatemala focusing on community development with social entrepreneurship, education and environmental projects. I also worked as a Business Developer for SDG Monitor, a tool that enables companies to measure, communicate and track their impact according to the SDGs and the ESGs.

  Second year BSc Global Development studies undergraduate at UOM . Head of campaigns committee at the Post-Crash Economics society, campaigning for the implementation of a Doughnut Economics module in BSc/BA Econ courses, partnering with Rethinking Economics.  Co-authored the latest Manchester economics curriculum ‘health check’ and wrote foreword for the 2024 Rethinking Economics national report.

Professor of Management and Co-Director of the Centre for Latin American Studies at the University of Essex I investigate economic and social issues in Latin America - and Colombia in particular. Active member of the Latin American Doughnut economy ‘DONUT LATAM’ project, a collaboration between Latin American Bureau (LAB) and a team of researchers in Europe and Latin America.
