My eyes lit up whenever I talk about learning and development. I like to call myself a bridge at the intersection of , , and . Currently, I'm leading a department in that focuses on creating curriculum for adult learners in public sector to build a , , and future. I have met a lot of professionals and leaders from various backgrounds and industries who are humble enough to keep learning and finding new ways to improve policy making. In , we believe that development should be done without sacrificing our mother earth. That's what brings me to DEAL community. I believe that this is the right community to learn about what constitute "growth". Can we grow without sacrificing the resources we take from the environment? Can we empower others to grow along the way? Those are questions I'm longing to answer.

Sílvia Correia
Braga, Portugal
Hi, my name is Sílvia, I live in the wonderful city of Braga upt in the North of Portugal. I am a trained economist, a marketing enthusiast and a social entrepreneur at heart. I started my own business in Marketing & Communication in 2010 and in 2020 I founded my own brand: re.store! re.store is the Planet-and-People friendly brand built on the circularuty principles. We upcycle textile waste, leftovers and samples from the Portuguese textile industry (so far, +6.e tons) and transform them into new, functional products with a purpose. All our products are stitched by our social partners (social institutions, refugees, prison inmates, social causes) to whom we pay a financial salary (+€58k so far) and an emotional one because we foster their self esteem and sense of belonging in society. We also share our experience, stories and motivation at schools and universities as well as in organizations because we believe we must contribute to the collective awareness that we need to change and transform our consumer behaviour. And this is the 3rd P in our strategy: Pedagogy for change (1st being People and 2nd being Planet). I am thrilled to be able to join this community, to share our experience and concerns and learn from others, thus contributing to the importance of a sustainable and socially inclusive TOMORROW!
