Title: Landscape and Tourism: Regenerating Territory and Community

The seminar is part of the “Brianze e Laghi” stage of IT.A.CÀ, the Responsible Tourism Festival, and of the Volta Project. Its link to Kate Raworth’s Doughnut Economics lies in the idea of tourism development that respects environmental limits while meeting the needs of the people who live in a place, such as Brunate, which has now become a mass tourism destination. The event coincides with the presentation of the third edition of the book on Doughnut Economics.

Programme. The afternoon opens with an introduction by Sonia Pistidda (Politecnico di Milano), followed by a talk by Marco Moro (Edizioni Ambiente). It closes with a visit to the restoration work on dry stone walls, an ancient building craft now at risk of disappearing, which over the centuries has proven effective in preventing soil erosion and reducing hydrogeological instability.

Where and how to take part. The event takes place in person at Villa del Grumello, Via per Cernobbio 11, Como.

Who it is for. University students, with a share of places reserved for external participants.
