Ssembatya Hikimah (He/Him) is a Graduate Artist from the college of engineering design art and technology (CEDAT) - Makerere university, A climate Activist, Educator, and a global art in medicine fellow. Currently Living and working in Uganda with the Culture Declares Emergency (CDE) as the National Director for Uganda and The Great Imagining (TGI) as the coordinator for Africa. He is also the Founder of African Visual Artists Associates (AVIAS), an organization working with advancement of creative education through initiation, development and delivery of workshops symposiums and exhibitions harness climate awareness, adaptation, and mitigation. He is also a projects manager at the nodding disease foundation Uganda & chairman executive committee at Aliferous Universe Foundation. For two years working within the context of climate change, art and activism (justice, just transition). I have now embarked on The Great Imagining Africa Newspaper project a first of its kind publication leveraging the plight of activism for young African innovators and creatives to find platform for support of their climate change ideas to present them to a bigger audience.
