I work with local governments and public institutions to design and implement projects that create positive social and environmental impact. My professional interests include sustainability, community development, social innovation, and participatory governance. I am particularly excited by initiatives that strengthen communities, expand opportunities, and help build more inclusive and resilient societies. Whether through sustainability projects, social justice efforts, or community-building initiatives, I believe meaningful change happens when people come together around a shared purpose.

I’m a geographer at heart and passionate about systems thinking for the future of people and planet. Currently I train teachers on the University of Bristol PGCE and work with schools across the southwest. I’m also the micro-qualification lead and lecturer at the Hartcliffe and Withywood Micro-Campus where I developed a programme called “Skills for a Changing World: Entrepreneurship and Professional Studies”. Learning about Donughnut economics has been fundamental to this course and the work we are doing in the area. Hoping to share more soon and learn from others in this community.

I’m a journalist specialized in Marketing and Communication, with more than 20 years of experience building strategic narratives, engaging stakeholders, and strengthening institutional positioning across education, content, and sustainability ecosystems. In recent years, I’ve been directing my work toward sustainability, circular economy, and regenerative transitions in Brazil, contributing to initiatives that connect business, society, academia, and public policy through communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. I joined the DEAL Community because I believe today’s global challenges demand collective intelligence, cooperation, and new ways of thinking about development, impact, and regeneration. I’m especially interested in exchanging experiences, learning from diverse perspectives, and contributing with my background in communication, ecosystem engagement, and narrative building to help amplify meaningful transformation.

I am drawn to the Doughnut Economics Action Lab Community because it offers a practical and Planetary-centered approach to development that aligns closely with my vision for inclusive and regenerative societies. Coming from a background in History and Development practice, I have worked in TVET, livelihood, and disability inclusion projects in Bangladesh, where I have seen how economic growth often overlooks social equity and ecological balance. DEAL’s framework inspires me because it connects economic systems with human dignity, community wellbeing, and planetary boundaries. I want to learn from global practitioners, exchange ideas, and explore how Doughnut Economics can be adapted to contexts like Bangladesh. In the future, I hope to apply these ideas through my initiative, Development X, focusing on inclusive livelihoods and regenerative community development.

 I am a teacher, speaker, and author who, for over 25 years, has led hundreds of workshops and classes, given talks from coast to coast, and published 3 books.  My work centers on how being of service to others can generally enrich our lives as well as improve and give more meaning to our work, workplaces, and buying spaces.  I come to the DEAL community first as a learner and second as a believer in the need to change our economic thinking if we want a livable planet with thriving humans on it. 

I am a Senior Economist specialised in sustainability and climate change advisory, with over 13 years of experience delivering economic analysis for public sector institutions and private clients. I always have had an immense passion towards tackling climate change and working to shape a more sustainable planet. I am very glad to be part of this network to share ideas, bring insightful assessments and keep working towards these pressing issues, which, amongst others, can be solved by fostering a Doughnut Economics' mindset.

Personally, I'm born in Japan, raised in Canada, and studied and worked in Germany. 2024 Noto Earthquake survivor.  Professionally, I hold a Master's degree in Decision Theory from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) Nürnberg. With 5 years working as a tour guide in Japan, followed by 3 years as a consultant in Berlin working across HR and martech. Currently, I'm a freelance coach and mentor, helping individuals navigate career transitions, personal and professional relationships, and grief and loss.

Hello! I am a passionate houser who has spent my professional career exploring community development through housing design, planning and policy. I was moved when I first learned about Doughnut Economics,  the logic really resonated with me, combining the human needs with healing the earth. It spoke to me so much, that my partner and I built a business to embrace the social and environmental changes necessary to improve the housing system. I recently moved from New York to the Netherlands to explore these opportunities further and experience a different way of living.

The model encourages us to shape the here and now differently with a view to the future. It provides guidance for political decision-making and for decisions in the private and non-profit sectors. I am in the process of making this model known in my environment. I work in public administration. And I am involved in civil society. I personally will now also use it to evaluate the party programs during pre-political elections. 

I work at the intersection of learning, confidence building, and community empowerment.. As a study skills tutor and ESOL instructor, I help learners from diverse backgrounds build clarity, self‑belief, and the tools to thrive. My practice is person‑centred, inclusive, and grounded in the belief that every learner brings their own story and strengths.   My earlier career in the global energy sector gave me a strong analytical foundation and experience working across cultures. Today, I bring that same adaptability and curiosity to education, digital inclusion, and community‑led initiatives across Aberdeen and abroad.
