I am a real utopist, activist and researcher. I work as an interdisciplinary researcher at Institute of economic sciences in Belgrade, and also at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, where I did my PhD. My educational base is Economy. In my research, I use triangle framework involving theories from political economy, political ecology and cultural (critical) studies. I also merge decolonial studies, anthropology approaches sociological regard to innovate the methodological approaches with the aim to better understand the phenomenon(s). Theories of development, Degrowth, Doughnut economics, eco-socialism, Theories of Commons etc.

A founder of Telford Friends of the Earth (30 years ago), who was inspired only by the environmental bit of economics, as it explained so much of what I saw as wrong in the world. I have worked mostly with marginal communities, in the middle of the doughnut, and I now work with rural microbusinesses in the UK and teach at a land-based university.

I currently work in UK central government in a small multidisciplinary team called Policy Lab. I'm testing ways to bring Doughnut Economics (and the like) into our work. As part of this I've setup and run the monthly x-govt Climate Show and Tells to socialise the good stuff that's happening and help encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing. However, I think local government is where the future is really going to happen so hoping to make that my next move.

I have a diverse background ranging from molecular biology to national security to AI/Digital Automation to Biomimicry. My focus is generally around strategy, business models, and innovation. I have a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology, an MS in Biomimicry. As well as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, PMP, and AZ-900 certificates. I will be getting my Biomimicry Professional certification in 2021. The easy answer to how I came here would the the Doughnut Economics book, right? The longer answer would be I came here through my passion for biomimicry and innovation. Once I learned more about circularity, and Kate Raworth's work in particular, I was immediately drawn to the new way of looking at not just economics, but also how companies and governments can take action. Specifically, I find the approach of asking why very appealing. Why does an economy exist? What is it for? We create economies, why not create them to optimize flourishing all around.
