I'm helping places across the UK to upscale small scale agroecological farming and food growing in urban and peri-urban spaces as a direct response to near-term collapse of our destructive food system. I'm also developing a model for developing regenerative communities as a director of Tiny House Community Bristol.

After graduation, I worked for almost 16 years at a research group in building physics, with a short stay inbetween at the energy administration of Brussels. Since 2007 I have my own Sustainability Research and Education Team at the Faculty of Architecture & art, Hasselt University, Belgium. I'm strongly interested in guiding people, students and professionals in the building sector towards more sustainable choices, especially with regard to the use of natural resources, but with attention to social justice. I'm highly inspired by the principles of doughnut economics and sufficiency and try to introduce them both in my professional and personal life. We have covered the climate crisis and won first place in 2020 for our explainer "Climate Change in South Africa: How bad can it be?" at UC Boulder's Inside the Greenhouse climate and comedy video competition. We have also created a video about what a Green New Deal could look like to help South Africa recover post Covid-19 while ensuring a just transition for our heavily coal-dependent economy. I holds a bachelor's degree in Religion with a focus in Buddhism and Western philosophy from Colorado College. I studied permaculture design at Quail Springs Permaculture, completed an 18-month sustainable agriculture fellowship with the Allegheny Mountain Institute in 2016; and worked in the field of garden-based education before coming to Springhouse. I am deeply committed to healthy human development and is passionate about creating regenerative communities. I'm currently enrolled in the Ecological Design Thinking Master’s Program at Schumacher College, where I'm is loving meeting people from around the world and exploring where theory and practice meet. Finally, My partner Ian and I recently completed construction on our hand-built home, where we intend to live and grow together for the foreseeable future
