Slowest Revolutionary. Just a novice in addressing the eco-paralysis which exists in our society. An altruist who is learning about the paradigm shift from neoliberalism to Doughnutism (Social Equitable Ecological Economy). I believe knowledge from the indigenous/tribal communities is a way to mitigate the climate crisis and plug policies which would make "clean environment" a human right, it could be a start. Belonging to the largest democracy in the world, it is imperative for India to look at new alternatives and to shift to a circular economy soon, for a happier society.

I was born in the middle east but have lived in the U.S. since I was a teenager. I've worked throughout the developing world on technology policy with telco operators, internet platform companies, and governments. I did a short stint at the World Economic Forum were learned how to distinguish between a "think-tank" and "do-tank." I left the WEF wanting to "do more and talk less," and co-founded a fintech company using blockchain to disrupt investment banking. I subsequently learned what happens when a company grows faster than its available capital. I've been doing freelance consulting for the past 18 months or so, mostly research and writing for the Economist Intelligence Unit.

Neel is the solar strategy lead at SPACE10 - IKEA’s global research and design lab. Neel is leading research explorations and identifying opportunities for how solar energy can become a key enabler for communities with limited means to improve their everyday life at home. Neel has led product development of a localized energy trading platform (SOLshare) to enable that help to democratise clean energy in the past. He is currently designing renewable energy products and services that are not only aimed to help people with limited energy access step up in the energy ladder but also empower users in urban areas to make the energy transition by taking power into their own hands.

I'm excited by the Doughnut Economics concepts, change of focus (for a greener, kinder more sustainable way of living) and way of working (new pictures to help us think differently) . I’d love to be part of the DEAL process and am happy to lend my skills either in Nairobi, where I’m currently based, or in my hometown of Oxford. I create whiteboard animations and infographics to support communication and thinking, mainly in the environmental and economic development sectors. My background is in Social Anthropology (and some economics!), Agriculture and I’ve worked in agricultural research, innovation systems and project evaluation in Asia and Africa for many years.

I'm a South African who was transplanted in Ireland 8 years ago. I'm still trying to put down a proper root system and adapt to the different climate! Who turned the sun down? I have 2 young kids and worry a lot about their future. I have made a commitment to doing as much as I possibly can to raise awareness of and help implement more regenerative ways of living on our Earth. Our communities will be our lifeboats going forward and they will need to be resilient, self-sustaining and well-prepared. Community preparation and community led change is where it's at for me. Tools like the Doughnut are so valuable for illustrating where we're at and helping us strategise a way forward - the Doughnut is simple, accessible and packs a powerful punch!
