I am passionate about building a global progressive movement of people who want to live in the doughnut. This includes an A-level curriculum change for Economics. I am applying for Teach First and hope to be an A-level Economics Teacher in the next 3 years. I hope to work with others to build the local doughnut movement in York where I currently live. Feel free to message me if you are interested in meeting locally or online to discuss initiatives.

I'm a Sustainability consultant and founder of Gaea Collaboration Ltd. a platform that helps companies to integrate sustainability at the heart of what they do and to incorporate regenerative practices that can deliver positive results to business, to society and the planet. Finding that sweet spot is the kind of challenge that excite me, as well as spending time in nature and more recently, thanks to the lockdown, learning to play the piano. www.gaeacollaboration.com

Aitor Marcos Diaz

Aitor is a behavioral-ecological economist investigating demand-side solutions for climate change mitigation. His research interests lie in how citizens, both as economic agents and political subjects, interact with climate solutions. Aitor obtained his PhD in 2023 from the University of the Basque Country, where he focused on the limitations of information and economic incentives for promoting sustainable consumption. As a postdoctoral researcher at the USC Wrigley Institute for Environment & Sustainability, he is developing a research agenda at the intersection of decision science, consumer research, and ecological economics. Specifically, he plans to use experimental economics and quantitative social science methods to examine how demand-side solutions for climate change mitigation influence the norms, beliefs, preferences, and structural factors that shape resource and energy demand. By focusing on the demand side of the equation, his research revolves around the following solutions: Reducing, shifting, or making consumption patterns more efficient; divesting from fossil fuels and investing to accelerate the energy transition; adopting low-carbon lifestyles; and building political support for pathways to a net-zero economy.

I am the author of the book, "The Science Of Expectation: Happiness As Anticipation", in which, through a logical analysis of the phenomenon of anticipation, I have tried to answer the age-old question of the meaning of happines. I studied philosophy at the Pontifical Urbaniana Univeristy, Rome. The question of what happiness exactly means is of fundamental importance because, since it answers the question of what actually constitutes the good life or wellbeing, it has the role of driving a social and economic system – because every social or economic system is driven by an idea of what constitues wellbeing. Now, because the analysis shows happiness to mean inner peace, and because it shows inner peace to be something that is achieved by having few desires, or better put, by a modest lifestyle, the work is showing that the same measure that creates our happiness is the same measure that is needed for a sustainable planet. Herein lies the intersection with the Doughnut framework
